welcomes children from ages 4 – 17

We are excited to welcome you to the Faith Formation Program! It is our privilege to assist you in the faith formation of your children in Christ.

The St. Camillus Faith Formation Program recognizes that you, parents, are the primary educators in faith and we as catechists are here to partner with you. Together, we form the children and youth according to the teachings of the Church.

Sacramental Programs

Family Catechesis
First Communion Program

Our First Communion Program is part of the Family Catechesis. This is a program that supports and encouragement parents in their role as the primary educators of their children in the Catholic Faith.

"Family-centered catechetical programs are opportunities for parents to catechize their children directly, for spouses to catechize each other and for children to catechize one another and their parents” (National Directory for Catechesis #61.2).

In our parish, as in many others, “Family Catechesis” involves parents FULL participation in the faith formation of their children.  It’s a very exciting program where kids learn as well as the parents (in a separate learning space) and then parents are given home lessons. This is a memorable time of your child’s life – and the memories you make during this preparation period will be cherished for a long time.

The Family Catechesis Program at St. Camillus is a 2-year program for children ages 6-11 (eligible if they are 6 year old by September 1st). And, the program  requires BOTH parents (mom and dad) to attend all the parents sessions while their children are in the classroom. We know that households and families take many shapes today. Therefore,

  • If you’re a married couple, we invite both of you and your child to attend together.

  • If one of you is not Catholic, we invite you both nonetheless.

  • If you are a single parent, we invite you and your child to attend.

  • If you are living in a separated or divorced situation, we invite both parents to be involved.

  • If there is another significant person (stepparent) involved in the raising of your child whom you feel would benefit your child to be involved, he or she is also welcome!

RCIY Program
(Rite of Christian Initiation for Youth)

is a 2-year program for children ages 12-17 (eligible if they are 12 year old by September 1st) whom have not been Baptized or have been baptized but have not received the Sacrament of First Communion and Confirmation.

Confirmation Program

Is a 2-year program for children ages 12-17 (eligible if they are 12 year old by September 1st). The Confirmation Program prepares candidates to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Candidates must complete all requirements and parents are required to attend all Parents Meeting.
